[DELTA Safety Training](https://www.deltasafetytraining.com) is a leading safety certification specialist serving heavy-industry clients. Recognizing the importance of real-time insights to support both internal operations and client needs, Delta sought a comprehensive, future-ready analytics ecosystem from the ground up.
## Problem Statement
With data spread across multiple systems—an ERP system, bookkeeping software, a CRM platform, and Google Analytics—Delta faced several challenges:
- **Fragmented Data Sources**: Limited visibility across operational, financial, and marketing data.
- **No Centralized Infrastructure**: Reporting demands grew, but no unified data hub existed for efficient analysis.
- **Data Synchronization Needs**: Customers and marketplace partners required up-to-date certification and training availability data, but manual syncing was error-prone and time-consuming.
## Delivered Solution
To address these issues, a new, integrated data environment was developed:
1. **Data Consolidation**
- Utilized [[Hevo]] to ingest the ERP [[ChainWise]], bookkeeping, CRM, and Google Analytics data into a dedicated reporting data warehouse.
- Ensured automated, scheduled pipelines kept the warehouse continuously up to date.
2. **Data Transformation & Modeling**
- Employed [[dbt]] to structure, clean, and enrich data for downstream analytics.
- Standardized data models established a single source of truth, streamlining business logic for cross-team reporting.
3. **Analytics & Visualization**
- Implemented [[Looker Studio]] dashboards to showcase key performance indicators (KPIs), such as certification compliance rates, upcoming renewals, and financial metrics.
- Built over 30+ custom reports tailored to clients’ HR departments, offering instant visibility into employee training schedules and certification statuses.
4. **REST-API for Data Sync**
- Developed a REST-API on top of the warehouse, providing daily availability updates to external marketplaces in the [EDU-DEX](https://www.edudex.nl/) data format.
5. **REST-API for Customer Portal**
- Built a semantic model in [[Cube]] and provided REST-API access to the customer portal to allow clients to see their own performance metrics through embedded analytics.
6. **CRM Integration for Overdue Certifications**
- Collaborated with the marketing team to feed data on overdue certifications directly into [[HubSpot]].
- Enabled proactive outreach, improving client engagement and renewal rates.
